Sannikov Konstantin Yevgenievich

Sannikov Konstantin Yevgenievich, born September 18, 1970, lived in Kazan, forensic doctor.

On charges of committing crimes under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Organisation of the activities of a religious organisation, in respect of which a decision has been made to liquidate in connection with the implementation of extremist activities) and Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code (financing the activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with membership in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses banned in Russia, he was sentenced to 6,5 years in a general regime penal colony with a restriction of freedom for 1 year.

The sentence was handed down on February 15, 2023. On June 6, the appeal court upheld it, lifting the restriction of freedom. On October 17, the cassation court returned the case to the appeal court, which on December 8, 2023, left the original sentence.

Has been in custody since August 27, 2020.
